Sample: | NSCLC tissues cells or exosomes |
Dysfunction Pattern: | Interaction(miR-498/ABCE1 axis) |

Description: | HOTAIRM1 expression was dramatically upregulated, whereas miR-498 expression was significantly downregulated in NSCLC tissues cells or exosomes as compared to control groups. Functionally, HOTAIRM1 functioned as a sponge of miR-498 and miR-498 targeted ABCE1. In addition, HOTAIRM1 silencing inhibited NSCLC growth in vivo by downregulating ABCE1 and upregulating miR-498 expression. |
Causality: | Yes |
Causal Description: | Mechanistically, HOTAIRM1 knockdown repressed cell viability, migration, invasion and glycolysis metabolism, whereas induced cell apoptosis in NSCLC; however, miR-498 inhibitor hindered these effects. |

Disease Name: | Carcinoma, Non-Small-Cell Lung |
Sample: | cancerous and paracancerous tissues of NSCLC |
Dysfunction Pattern: | Expression[Expression[Expression[highly expressed]-expression]-expression] |
Validated Method: | qRT-PCR |
Description: | LncRNA-HOTAIRM1 showed varied expression levels in different malignant tumor cell lines. There was a significant association between the expression of HOTAIRM1 and histopathological differentiation, tumor size, tumor/node/metastasis (TNM) stage, and Ki-67 of NSCLC patients. In addition, the relative expression of HOTAIRM1 in NSCLC tissues was significantly higher when compared with the individual patients' matched paracancerous tissues. |

Clinical-realted Application: | Our study indicated there was a significant association between the expression of HOTAIRM1 and histopathological differentiation, tumor size, TNM stage, and Ki-67 of NSCLC patients, but not in gender, age, histology, lymph node metastasis state, and smoking history. Moreover, patients with high expression of HOTAIRM1 have shorter OS compared to the patients with high expression of HOTAIRM1. |

Description: | The expression of lnc HOTAIRM1 (HOTAIRM1) in exosomes secreted by NSCLC tissues increased. After exosomal HOTAIRM1 entered CAFs, HOTAIRM1 can adsorb miR-328-5p to up-regulate the expression of SPON2 in CAFs. Up-regulation of SPON2 in CAFs could promote the migration and invasion of NSCLC cells. |
